The speaker didn&#039;t really go into this in depth, but I&#039;m sure what he was talking about was the fairly common process of writing the low-level stuff (i.e. the stuff that needs to be super-fast) in C++ and the GUI in Python and then connecting the two.

I don&#039;t remember if he said how he connected the two, but I think he mentioned Boost. SWIG would have been another option. See also articles on extending Python with C++ (for example: http://www.python.org/doc/2.5.2/ext/intro.html)
